Craig began his spiritual journey in the ashrams and monasteries of the East, but it was his liberating encounter with an authentic Western teaching of enlightenment that provided the catalyst and container for his own transformation. For 13 years, he lived and worked in a dynamic living “laboratory of evolution” under the direct guidance of EnlightenNext founder and spiritual teacher Andrew Cohen. Ultimately playing a key role in the leadership of this thriving international spiritual community, he has served for years as an inspirational and guiding force in the spiritual lives of practitioners around the world. In his current work, Craig integrates decades of intensive spiritual practice with insights gleaned during his eight years as Senior Editor of the award-winning What Is Enlightenment? magazine. Through his writings and teachings, he is helping to articulate an authentic “evolutionary mysticism” which illuminates the vital relationship between individual transformation and collective evolution. He outlines the principles and practices of this new, evolutionary spiritual path in his forthcoming books, The Future of God and Integral Enlightenment. Craig is a founding member of Ken Wilber's Integral Institute, and a participant in the Synthesis Dialogues, a 35-person interdisciplinary think tank presided over by His Holiness the Dalai Lama. A master of the art of spiritual dialogue, his celebrated conversations with other luminaries are regularly heard by New Dimensions Radio’s seven million listeners. A frequent contributor to Shift magazine and co-author of IONS’ 2008 Shift Report, he is also co-writer and story editor of the forthcoming documentary film The SHIFT. Craig lives and teaches in Berkeley, California, where he offers instruction and guidance in meditation and other aspects of evolutionary spiritual practice.
